What alternatives does my company have?

MOVE TO RISE  WITH SAP

Move to RISE with SAP S/4HANA, private edition

  • Contract Conversion.
  • Migration of your system to the cloud, system conversion, or new implementation.
  • Estimated project duration: 12 months. Minimum 60 FTEs.

Move to RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition

  • Contract Conversion.
  • It is always an implementation.
  • Less functionality and variability than the current ERP system, so it is usually not a viable option for SAP ERP installed base customers.
  • Estimated project duration: 9 months.

Move to RISE with SAP PMC

  • Available for current VAR customers up to FTEs.
  • Requires PMC agreement with VAR.

MOVE TO SAP S/4HANA ON-PREMISE

Move to SAP S/4HANA on-premise

  • Contract or product conversion.
  • Transition to the cloud, either system conversion or new implementation.
  • Estimated project duration: 6 months.

DO NOT DO ANYTHING

Upgrade a EhP 6-8

  • No contractual change.
  • Estimated project duration: 6 months.
  • May require the acquisition of new hardware.
  • Will only delay the conversion to SAP S/4HANA until 2027/2030.

Migration to SAP ERP, private cloud edition.

  • Contract Conversion.
  • It is always an implementation.
  • Less functionality and variability than the current ERP system, so it is usually not a viable option for SAP ERP installed base customers.
  • Estimated project duration: 9 months.

Move to RISE with SAP PMC

  • Contract conversion.
  • Only possible on an SAP HANA database requiring an upgrade to EhP 7-8.
  • Estimated project duration: 6 months.
  • Still requires a transition to SAP S/4HANA by 2027/2030.

What are the delivery timelines for SAP maintenance? 

Mainstream Maintenance

Full scope of maintenance and support, including:

  • Legal changes.
  • Support packages.
  • Incident resolution.
  • Global Support backbone.
  • Mission Critical support.
  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Extended maintenance (Opcional + Costs)

Starting from 2028, if your SAP system is not up to date, you will have technical limitations and/or other restrictions that will limit the delivery of maintenance and support. Additionally, there will be an additional 2% fee based on the maintenance base for all support offerings.

For selected versions of SAP S/4HANA (1709-1809-1909), there will be a 4% increase in the maintenance calculation.

Customer - Specific Maintenance

Starting from 2030, restrictions are applied to the scope of support and maintenance services:

  • No delivery of legal changes.
  • No delivery of support packages.
  • No guarantee of technological updates (e.g., for new database versions or operating systems).
  • No support for new interfaces.
  • Resolution of specific incidents only for known issues; additional support fees apply for resolving new incidents.
  • No Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Naturgy

Naturgy Argentina, the Spanish company with a presence in more than 20 countries, is dedicated to the generation, distribution, and commercialization of energy and gas.

The company chose Process Technologies for the implementation of RISE with SAP to manage daily operations. The project was completed in 11 months, making it the 8th client in the utilities industry for Process Technologies.

DERUDDER HNOS S.R.L, the largest passenger transport group in the country, became the first SAP S/4HANA conversion project in Argentina.

The business group, consisting of 39 companies, including Flecha Bus and Chevallier, operates complex operations due to its large scale and experienced significant growth, necessitating a change in its systems. To meet the new technological requirements, it aligned with the digital transformation program. The project, involving over 200 users, involved converting their SAP ECC 6.0 system to SAP S/4HANA 1909 in a private cloud.
